Kathleen's interest in computers can be traced back to 1978 when she joined her high school’s Explorer’s Club and found herself at the keyboard of a CRT connected to a huge computer at Western Electric. After one look at that tiny screen with its black background and amber blinking cursor, she was hooked.
Kathleen began her career as the person companies hired to tap new markets and territories. She was very successful at it, and, in addition to the logistics and the marketing, she soon found herself designing every type of marketing material known to Mankind and loving it.
At age 37, she enrolled in a new program at COTC: “Digital Media Design." She graduated 2 1/2 years later (with honors) and quickly landed a job as V.P. of Marketing and Technology for the highest dollar volume Ohio realty group, where she was responsible for all visual material for web and print.
Then one of her former COTC instructors called and asked if she would like to teach. Part-time teaching soon turned into a full-time teaching position at her first alma mater.
Kathleen earned her bachelors degree three years later, and is pursuing a Masters in Instructional Design. She was honored with COTC’s Teaching Excellence Award in September of 2009.
